Ah, Diccon, you’ve been to the country where drivers don’t stop for pedestrians on crossings… CCF: “Most of the pedestrian signals outside the station were recently louvered on my request.” DA: “Of the three that face the west bound traffic waiting at the junction lights only two have louvres. These two are not properly adjusted; all three show green to a vehicle waiting on the intersection.” CCF: Two out of three is most. The louvres don’t have to completely obscure the green lenses from drivers at the previous junction, just ensure that they are not so obvious that they can be confused with the set at the junction. If they are too low then drivers coming through both junctions at a reasonable speed can’t see whether for not there is a green signal or a blank signal in adequate time to react accordingly. Don’t know why they didn’t do the third signal - will raise that with TfL. |
