| My, Jayne, how virtuous you are! All that hard work, all those taxes paid, and all to subsidise a feckless underclass. Labour are not increasing the size of the state. They are merely trying to repair the depradations of the past 14 years, which have left us with a broken public realm. Sadly, in my view, they are going about it far too timidly - probably so as not to provoke the hostility of the right. They will incur that anyway - there are far too many people like you who simply cannot accept the fact of a Labour government. So Rachel Reeves may as well be bold. This will probably give you conniptions, but to get us out of the hole that the Tories dug, the solution is massive investment, financed by borrowing. |
