Simplifying school uniform so that it isn't only available from a schoolbshop can make this easier. Second hand uniform sold by PTAs (volunteers for anything are often hard to find nowadays) or handed on by fellow classmates is invaluable. Every school could do with this. Teachers are often trying to find help for many children. I've seen some hideous results from drying clothes in a tumble dryer. They no longer last as long. Parents are often time poor as well. Tumble dryers are expensive to run but trying to dry washing indoors can cause condensation and then mould problems. Spinning hard dries it more but causes creasing. So many little pieces of clothing with small children! Outside is better but someone needs to be there to take it in when and if it rains. |
