JS > "Yes, give us a name Alan - who are you advocating as this strong all knowing leader?" I don't think AC is proposing something as improbably omniscient as a 'strong all-knowing leader'. Someone competent would do instead of the present incumbent who is weak and ineffective. Johnson is good at campaigning but terrible at governing. Sunak seems able and he is popular. That popularity may fade away as the furlough scheme winds down and he starts to address the huge deficit and debt by cutting expenditure and/or raising taxes. Sturgeon has shown herself to be a strong leader: fronting the vast majority, if not all, of the Scottish government's public briefings in response to the crisis. Her honesty and caution is in stark contrast to Johnson's approach. She is popular in Scotland, but I don't know if she could command the same popularity across the whole of the UK. I am certain there are others. |
