Previously you were pointing to an apparent discrepancy between the infection rate and the number of excess deaths, your claim being that if so many people were catching a potentially fatal disease, why weren't we seeing more excess deaths? Which completely ignored (a ) that we were having an unusually mild flu season, (b ) that the winter weather was also unusually mild, and (c ) there is a lag between catching the disease and dying from it. Yet even despite those first two, when the final figures were available, it has been demonstrated that from the start of lockdown until beginning of June alone, the number of excess deaths in the UK had already exceeded 63,000: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/jun/09/excess-deaths-in-uk-under-coronavirus-lockdown-pass-63000 Care to provide an explanation for having been proven completely wrong on this point, then? After all, if not Covid-19, then all these extra people must have been dying from something. Or will you retreat to your customary default position of completely ignoring all inconvenient facts, in favour of scanning the loonier fringes of the internet for the latest ridiculous claim to put out there in an exercise in deflection? |
