Janice, for me I only look at the statistics, as you say there was speculation that the virus might decrease in warmer weather, but it's the actual statistics from country to country that interest me more. And it is rather absurd how some parts of the media are scaremongering about France when their death rate is so low and continuing to decline. My Mrs. is Slovak, last week they had their first death from covid in the country in over 2 months, but at the same time there's no doubt that just like most the UK, France, Germany etc. Slovakia is currently experiencing an increase in daily cases (from typically 5-15 in late May and June to around 40-60 a day currently). But is that really a reason to be excessively worried ? - as I say doesn't it stand to reason that as people are trying to return to some degree of normality, flying between different countries and so forth, that there's going to be a noticeable increase in new cases ?. But it's not a surge or second wave, the scale of the increase is nothing like those countries experienced earlier this year, and the fact death rates are continuing to decline even when new cases are continuing to rise suggests that things are more optimistic than the scaremongers would suggest. |
