Lovely to see you posting Jim Lawes.  Home Instead were recommended but not available in the area when FIL was alive unfortunately.  There was a wonderful lady from the Library who visited and there was the chiropodist too.  And a lady who brought the lunch every day.  Still not the same as a friend popping in for a chat, as most working people are in a rush which when you have slowed down yourself is very much a rush!
