| I’m not sure where to begin. If there is an agreed exit and terms for a period of negotiating our future trade relations with the EU then (and only then) will there be a managed exit. We then have until 2021 to form the basis of the future UK : EU trade relations. If we get to 29 March without such an agreement then we exit with no trade agreement and do so immediately. And not just no trade agreement but no agreement on anything. Immediately. Think. Half our economy is based on trade with Europe. That stops. Think. Our banks rely on trade with Europe. That stops. Think. Many essential goods come from Europe. That stops. Ok. Not stops for ever. But severely inhibited. Cue recession. Mr Fisher says I’m a doom mongerer. A know it all. Well, sir, paint me a better picture. Tell me it ain’t so. |
