Who says Britain made a bad decision? Is your comment an emotional one based on your personal circumstances? I thought 'remain' would prevail but the vote was a democratic one which must be accepted in the same way that people weep and wail when their preferred party does not win a General Election. My perception is that Britain is not anti europe per se. The people originally voted for a trading union and to find themselves being sucked into the vortex of political union. The catalyst was with the likes of the unelected Mr Junkers pronouncing unhelpful views which only served to make people fearful for the future. Nor were the French politicians helpful with comments that Britain would be like an island like Guernsey and so on when it is all too obvious that the French institutions cannot bring about changes to their working practices or to control the anarchic elements who will not encompass anything they perceive to be against their vested interests. Britain wants to be part of Europe but not to go down the path it was taking. Despite David Cameron's comments to the contrary, he was utterly humiliated and achieved almost nothing when he went to all the member countries asking for changes. |
