In our old chippy in Fauconberg rd we used to do pineapple fritters, as well as apple and banana.For a short time we also did mushroom fritters.Tiny little button mushrooms (from Alan Staggs greengrocer 2 shops away) dipped in seasoned batter and fried.If I remember correctly, a portion was 6d when we first started doing them.They were very popular with our homemade sausages, but the price had to go up to 8d, and nobody bought them then so we stopped doing them.The othe fritters were all 6d each and we also used to sell small, medium and large portions of fish and a whole 3.5lb rotisserie chicken for 12/6 |
