"I put it down to the lack of throughput - Saturday lunchtime in the 60s / 70s you would queue down the street outside the chippy whereas now you go straight to the counter to be confronted by some dried up old fish that has been fried hours ago :-(" I'd say that depends on the chippy. My local one, when I go back at weekends, in Liverpool is always full and the fish is always cooked in front of you, meaning more of a wait which is well worth it as both the fish and the chips are fantastic. |
