The most dedicated carers - and there are some real gems - tend to be the older ones and although they spend a lot of time and effort showing the youngsters what to do the pay is so pitiful and the work so unglamorous that despite all the effort it seems most of the youngsters decide this is not a job they want to do and they leave. Consequently those most dedicated carers become overworked and overstressed - particularly as they are the ones that fill in when anybody drops out. Most of the youngsters don't seem to have the responsibility that the older ones have.
