Will, I fear we are getting stuck in a slightly pedantic and frankly condescending loop. I understand your point, but by definition you need lots of pump storage schemes to store the excess energy to have a meaningful impact on the country's total energy needs, and these need to be connected to the grid, and all the other renewable sources across the country (and offshre) need to be connected to feed into these storage schemes. I am not familiar with this topic but not sure we have many (one I believe).... so how long does planning/ contruction take, how many do we need - 10,50,100? Maybe its a long term solution, but to pretend this is the answer seems a little naive. |
