| I think Michael makes a very good point about how pricing should be seasonal, there being much less to see in the winter. It isn't possible to let people in just for the craft fair but not the Gardens; same problem with Kew Palace: no way to police it once they're in the grounds. The literary festival seemed to be a great success but I agree that it was poorly advertised. I'm a Friend but by the time I found about it, the blessed Margaret Atwell was sold out. One would normally pay to hear an author at a literary festival, but I still say that no one should expect to pay to enter a retail outlet. |
