I think these events are aimed at tourists rather than locals therefore they haven't really thought about pricing for Friends who they are just assuming won't go. The event will be probably be filled by coach parties who won't recognise they are being charged extra because their ticket will be part of a package. The big deficit at Kew seems partly down to past mismanagement of events and the commercial side of things in the past. They seem to think the way back is excessively highly priced events with little or no discount for Friends. |
