It would be nice if they could review, and update the facilities which are already there. We use Gunnersbury Park at various times/dates throughout the year, mostly just for a walk/cycle, and a picnic. It definitely seems well used. People have a kick about on the football pitches, lots of kites flying, dog walkers, Mela Festival, etc. My house also over looks Gunnersbury Park and I can often see people there, even the Bootcamp runs a couple of times a week I believe? Last year I remember going there on a hot sunny day in summer, and people were playing mini-golf, kids in the play ground, ice cream trucks had a busy day. I just think 40% of the park to be taken up is too much, and I quite agree with others that it's a "look, but don't touch" facility which will probably not end up benefiting locals, but other large sports groups. Once we lose this green space, it's gone forever - quite right. I definitely don't want it to be developed into housing, as was previously discussed years ago. I believe they were going to section off part of the park close to Lionel Road North for new flats. I hope that idea won't resurface. |
