"The main building option seems to be a sports hall, a welcome addition when there is a chronic lack of indoor sports facilities in west London (note the current refusal to extend permission for the dome at Dukes Meadow."
The planners at Hounslow council for some unfathomable reason, practising double standards, refused the extended permission for the dome at Dukes Meadows using the definition of it being Metropolitan Open Land, unfortunately this has not stopped them according the same caution and protection in regard to the M.O.L. at Brent Lea or Osterley, looking with enthusiasm on plans to build schools on these sites. If you can explain why you think this should be, I for one would be fascinated to hear it. Any plans that affect parks, open spaces, or M.O.L.should be considered extremely carefully. All this talk of bright, shiny new facilities may sound a whizzo idea, but there needs to be a balance struck so people are probably right to view these proposals with extreme caution.
