I certainly would not want my children or their generation to endure the inflation and interest rates of that era Colin since like you I do not recall it being either pleasant or feeling rewarding. What has changed for the worse since that time is that todays '20s and '30s start life with much higher levels of debt (some state inflicted like student loans or self inflicted due to poor financial budgeting and attitude). What we are in danger of creating is children who will have to rely on legacies from their parents in having any capital and not through their own savings and thriftiness. |
