Adrian, I know. Have moved to the suburbs recently. You would be amazed. Keith the issue now is the actual purchase price - doing overtime, extra jobs etc is not going to help when you have a 2,000,000 mortgage. That sum at a very low rate of 2% is 3333.33 pcm (io) - At standard variable its 8333.33. If that goes up by just 1% you are looking down the nose of 10,000 pcm (13,000+ should one be bold enough to repay the capital) ouch ouch and treble ouch. Even a modest 500,000 comes out at 2500pcm (io) God help anyone unfortunate enough to be in that position |
