Adrian, am I correct in thinking that a buy to let investor can offset all the rent from tenants against the mortgage interest? So if the interest the investor is paying on a BTL mortgage is, say, £1,000 per month and the rent is £1,600 per month, the investor will only pay tax on the £600 per month 'profit' - ie the amount that is over and above the cost of the mortgage interest? |
