I would suggest that anyone who has enough income to pay the interest on a £2m mortgage is probably paying a heck of a lot of income tax already. As well as being progressive tax should be fair and not based simply on jealousy. The truth of this is that many of us are just envious of people who earn more than we do and assume that they are all crooks anyway. Is it not possible that high earners might just be people who are highly successful in their chosen field e.g. premier league footballers, artists and designers, musicians, actors, writers,inventors, impresarios and promoters, and TV Presenters? |
