This is statistical nonsense, I'm afraid - if anything Chiswick residents, most of whom live in easy walking distance in an area where car ownership has declined, would be less likely to drive to the High Road, and are thus less likely to get PCNs. Even when we do drive, we're also more likely to be aware of parking restrictions and foibles of the system - I assume most locals who are bright enough to be allowed a driving licence would change their behaviour after the second or third ticket and start paying adequate attention to the restrictions.
Finally in all this as far as I'm aware there's nothing in the released statistics as far as I know that breaks down this purported million quid into cars, vans, HGVs or location along what is a very long road which is split between Hounslow and TfL or whether they were moving or parking violations and who imposed them. Doing dodgy maths on top of imperfectly understood data doesn't help anyone. |
