In defence of the police - a man recently got into the passenger seat of my parked car in Brentford when I was in it. I managed to get out, leaving my bag with everything in in the car (didn't know I could still move so fast). A local shopkeeper called the police and they arrived in very short shrift. What surprised me as much as anything is that they were in an unmarked car, in plain clothes and very, to my eyes, young. There was nothing they could do, however, as there were no witnesses and no CCTV in that area. |
