| The idea that the low oil price is a conspiracy to wreck the Russian economy is a narrative that Putin would encourace to foster a seige mentality in Russia. It has nothing to do with Russia, rather that OPEC are trying to make the production of shale gas uneconomical - $60 is around the break even point. OPEC's 50 year monopoly of the global oil market is seriously under threat, at last! The sooner we start to exploit our own shale in the UK the better!! |
