thanks. Its, sort of, going ok. I've done beef stew and chicken stew but I find it best for mixed beans, especially mung and butter beans, the latter turning out much better than cooked quickly on the hob. The beans need to be soaked over night (except lentils) and don't need pre-cooking first. This does **not** apply to kidney beans! One thing is that it cooks very fast even on the slow setting - I suspect this is to do with the fact I insulate the whole thing (don't try this at home!) by wrapping it in a towel to prevent heat loss.. |
