| Remember the build up to 7/7? Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda is coming to get you. Then Panorama – bombs on 3 trains and a road vehicle is what they’ll probably attack us with… Al Qaeda is coming to get you. Then we were treated to some bomb hoaxes in the Midlands to warm things up a week or two prior… Al Qaeda can’t be far away now, and they’re coming to get you. Then (((BOOM))), Al Qaeda has arrived, and Tony Blair has confirmed this despite there being no evidence. Then we get all the hype – the hatred – what we must do to fight back. It’s all very traumatic for the man in the street, especially with these beliefs having been embedded in his mind for so many years; so I understand why people struggle when presented with evidence that suggests that something very different happened; but we must try and put beliefs to one side, focus on the evidence, accept it for what it is, and do what we think is right with the knowledge of such evidence. |
