Dogs communicate through their body language a lot more than we humans can read. My dog can cause another dog to display submission behaviour without me noticing what she is doing other than walking past. She also displays total submission around certain other dogs. She also shows fear/aggressive behaviour around certain breads and I can only speculate that she had bad experience with these breads before being rescued and re-homed by us. Maybe the guide dogs have had negative experiences with another Husky type dog. The guide dogs in a harness can feel more vulnerable and unable to run away from perceived trouble and may be behaving this way to put off a possible attack. |
