'...>I'm thinking it can't be much fun being a guide dog with all the restrictions that come with the job<...' Cindy, as a dog-lover I've always felt desperately sad for guide dogs, though no doubt they're loved and cosseted. Has anyone, though, noticed how sad and defeated they usually look? No tail-wagging, no happily lolling tongue and certainly no eager welcome for the friendly attention of strangers? They all seem weighed down by their responsibilities and one can only hope that - somehow - they get regular opportunities for a good run around around off the leash. I can't understand why - in this day of the sat-nav - technology has not so far come up with a simple, reliable hand-held electronic guide for the blind. It's more than time. |
