British Heart Foundation for furniture (it does have to have Fire Retardant/ Fire Safe labels as it's illegal for them to sell it in their shops if it doesn't). Acton Recycling project will take any furniture (as they give it away the rules are less 'stringent). Cancer Research UK for clothing/ornaments/ electricals - always helpful and grateful for donations. Ones to avoid Oxfam - too selective about what they take for their own good, seem far happier selling 'new' goods in their subsidised shops. William Wilberforce Trust - ask for a 'donation' for transport costs you're getting the damned stuff f free and then selling it so no! Salvation Army - was given the 'Spanish Inquisition' treatment (nobody expects that :-) ) when I tried to donate some clothing when earing out my late mother's wardrobe. I put the phone down. |
