| The Conservatives gave over £800m to the French to stop the flow of boats to no avail. Labour, in their short term of office have so far handed over £350m to no avail. It is accepted that the French northern shoreline is too long to be policed diligently but really, has Starmer not heard of the definition of insanity? There is a solution, but it would depend on Macron instructing his navy/border patrol to bring back the boats to France. Very soon the illegal immigrants would cease seeing France as a gateway to soft-touch England, the people smugglers would lose their market, and lives would not perish at sea. Of course, this simple remedy would rely on Macron's agreement. However, he is enjoying the handouts he is getting from our governments, and is still bent on punishing us for having the temerity for leaving the EU. C'est la vie. |
