| Over the last 30 years, cars have increased in width by 20-30%. TGT has gone from 4 lanes to 3 to accommodate wider cars, while during the same period the number of cars has increased by over 50%. You had congestion on TGT back in 1990, and it is worse today because doing mass transit using personal cars cannot work in large cities not designed for it. It also doesn't work in cities which actually were designed around cars, which, by the way, are pretty horrible places to live anyway. |
