Last week, I cycled home along the Lillie Road. I was on the roundabout at the junction of the North End Road when a Royal Mail van turned out from the junction to my left in front of me. If I hadn’t been alert and only doing 10 mph, chance are there would have been a collision. Ancedotal evidence abounds for the inattention and dangerous behaviour of all road users. The constant demonising of cyclists (and motorists), whilst a favourite pastime of chiswickw4 forum users, serves no purpose than to further inflame anger at “the others”. I would welcome a constructive discussion about how cyclists, motorists and pedestrians could better share the roads. But that seems unlikely here! |
