Emails and mobile phones have meant that a lot of people are on call 24/7.

I remember a very organised friend in the office who used to write a list of all the emails and jobs that he was going to do that day.  Just as he was reaching the end of his list having ticked everything off and was starting to clear his desk there was an explosive sound from his direction.  There was an incoming reply and query from someone he'd just written to that he felt he had to answer.  In the past there would have been several days between letters...

Sometimes the speed is good but not always!
