Can someone explasin why cycling and climate change lobbyists (Paul Campbell, Boris Pomroy, Clover Summers to give three examples) support this outrageous proposal which will divide Chiswick in two and cut off 2,000 residents from the rest of the area? If safety is the issue by Chiswick School, the previous timed arrangement limiting access worked well. There are no cycle paths affected, one way or the other. Climate change will not be affected either - there will simply be more pollution at the Hogarth rounabout, on the A316 by the school and the Sutton Rd traffic signals. Almost 100% certainly, local democracy/wishes are being ignored, based on some phony figures given re traffic along Burlington Lane to justify the new arrangements that Hounslow Council can't/won't have verified independently. There should be a local referendum in the Riverside ward in the area under threat - as in Ealing. |
