I ran cricket coaching for my club, Chiswick and Latymer, then renamed Chiswick and Whitton, for 25 years at Chiswick House up until 2017 by which time numbers had fallen from a peak of 50+ Under 7s to Under 11s every Saturday morning to barely a dozen of mixed ages. We couldn't raise a team in any age group so sadly we had to fold the Junior section. Internet and other similar diversions plus Chiswick House wanting to charge us £50 a session (for little ones who generally only used the outfield) if the Senior team weren't playing in the afternoon didn't help matters. If you know of any local youngsters looking to learn and play cricket point them towards Chiswick Cricket Club in Riverside Drive.
