Kevin, I would agree that closure of Bollo Lane seems inevitable, and a way of preventing construction traffic on this route needs to be found. Your broader point echoes my thoughts, neither LBE or LBH seem to cooperate and neither seem to care that our community extends across borough borders. People legitimately need to move around the area to access schools, medical centres, shops and to socialise. Not all trips can be done by bike, especially for the elderly or infirm. Using a taxi/ Uber etc can be a replacement to owning or using a private vehcile. But these will then get stuck in the traffic, as will buses on the many local routes that lack bus lanes (and remember CS9 will remove key stretches of bus lane). The E3 in peak times takes forever to cross the A4, the 94 will be stuck along South Parade.
The tube lines will soon divide our community, even more so than the A4 does at present. The closure of Turnham Green Terrace remains one of the most ludicrous decisions made by transport planners, with no logic or clear goal. |
