| A post on homelessness gets hijacked into an anti-cycling infra post. For the record I volunteered at Crisis at Xmas with my partner and son for the 3rd consecutive year on Xmas Day (and other days) - the only way to get there Xmas Day was to cycle as we do not have a car. At any one time there were 40 bikes parked at the venue in Bermondsey, half of which were ridden by the homeless who also had no other way to get to the Centre. I spoke to some of them who said it was a great way to get about and good therapy too. By the way we only felt safe where proper infra had been built - the rest was a free for all for drivers driving too fast and carelessly. Oh - and it is £70million - and 'a few' well 1.353million have used CW3 this year - 4000 on Xmas Day alone. |
