| These are divided with separate entrances so you are not living in each other's space. You're right though we complain about the difficulties our children have finding places they can afford to rent or buy yet there are many under-occupied homes. It is good to be able to have enough room to have family to stay - and not to be fighting over whether you have a bedroom too many - when you don't. When family members are ill and a distance away the travelling between homes can be exhausting, time consuming and expensive. Moving home is less traumatic if you are able to keep in touch electronically with friends but constantly changing technology can become too much of a challenge. It must also be harder to house share than it used to be as a result of the landlords who crammed bunkbeds into unsuitable homes and didn't manage and maintain their buildings or provide the sanitation, health and safety necessary for so many people. Yet we now get whole homes deserted enough in main streets to be used to grow cannabis in instead of housing people! |
