| On the face of it of course what you say looks perfectly sensible, BUT then you will get the climate change lobby saying that getting cars of the roads is also a very important issue. Hence the money for cycle lanes, a classic case of you can't please all of the people all of the time. Homelessness needs a drastic plan - one part of which needs to be massive council house building - not this farce of 'affordable' housing and throwing your lot in with housing associations who broadly speaking are not brilliant landlords and do have high rents. Did anyone hear Johnson mention any of that in the Queen's Speech? Similarly social care another missing and very important issue. Local authorities including the London Assembly have budgets for all the areas they are responsible for, and one person's priority is another's waste of money - I think it is a no win situation. However whatever Sadiq Khan may or may not have done at least he hasn't suggested a bloody useless bridge, or equally useless buses has he? |
