| I would be interested to know if any research has been done on driver concentration relative to speed. Slower speeds lead to less serious injuries, no doubt but I wonder if it also reduces the number of accidents. The thing I have noticed in these 20 zones is pedestrians seem much more likely to nip across the road in front of me not waiting for a safer gap in traffic or using a nearby crossing. If driver concentration is lower and pedestrians taking more risks the outcome may not be any safer. |
