ah well, just to put this on the record i used to have a postal vote in the days when i travelled a lot which i changed to voting in person before at the last election i received a 'postal vote card' which on closer inspection today, does not allow me to vote i was supposed to have received a proper 'postal vote' from LBH but nothing has arrived i called the helpline number on the card and asked why the 'proper' postal votes has not been send out and was told 'i can't comment on that' i was told that i can come to the Civic Centre today to collect my ballot paper there with photo id unfortunately is not possible for me to get to the Hounslow Civic Centre today then i was told i can email elections@hounslow.gov.uk and when i asked what different service i would receive from emailing them, as from the helpline i have just called which was stated above the mentioned email adress i got no answer i was also told to go to a website to get someone to vote for me by proxy (which i do not want, that is not the issue, i want vote for myself) i am kicking myself for not having scrutinised this poll card more closely before, in my mind i was all set to vote at local polling station today, because at least i could have complained before for not receiving my 'proper' postal vote just for the record, i lost my vote by getting caught out by not scrutinising closely by what i had received and thought i had received what i expected to receive (my polling card) maybe my ballot paper got lost in the post ? i don't recall changing vote back to postal, but that may be my error, and i did not keep a copy of of what i send to LBH so, no idea what happened here, but hopefully i am the only one who got caught out like this |
