To be frank this is common - any engagement with the local community usually takes place towards the end of the pre-planning process. I appreciate that may not go down well with residents, but it would be stupid to engage with the community before actually obtaining pre-application advice from Council officers, discussing different designs with them etc. I have to say it is an absolute waste of anyone's time to make an objection to the Council before the application is even submitted and the formal consultation process has commenced. At the time of receipt there's no application been lodged, so the Council isn't going to do anything with it. |
