Completely agree about the loss of Dada.  I loved going in there and the staff were wonderful.  It was one remnant of the way the High Road used to be when it was full of quirky, useful independent shops. 

It is so sad the high commercial rents are killing off what was one a vibrant, interesting high street.  What I'm wondering is if there is anything we as local residents/business owners can do to combat this trend?  Is it something we can take up at local council level through our councillors or at government level through our MPs?  Of course we should all support our local independents, but with rents at the level they are, that will not be enough.  I would love to hear what other people think about this.  Maybe we can get something going to change this sad trend.
