agree with what everyone has said
such a shame
i was very sorry to see Fopp close at the time
and thrilled when Dada opened
and made a point of buying all my new music releases either there or at Rough Trade or from the band directly
Dada nearly always had what i wanted, even though i have a fairly niche taste in music
which i thought was amazing (considering e.g. HMV in Hammersmith is comparable huge in size, but hardly ever had what i was looking for)
and the staff, as mentioned, were fantastic, friendly, knowledgable, a real pleasure to go into the shop
and while i don't know all the details
to me, it seemed a bold move the set up Dada,
after the folding of Fopp,
and in the economic climate,
and on top of trends in music towards digital, filesharing etc
and i want to thank the owner (who i think is Chiswick based too) for giving it a good go
i have really enjoyed going there whiel it lasted

and wanr to add my thanks to the wonderful staff (i had often thought that i would really enjoy working there myself, and also saw the note looking for staff recently....)
hope that you all find gainful employment which makes good use of your talents

and as to what can be done ?
i am clueless as well
there is no regulation on shop rents is there ?

it looks, again, like a case of unregulated free market capitalism, which knows the price of everything but the value of nothing
(but please correct me if i am wrong....)
