I'll miss Dada as I regularly found interesting stuff there including books of which they always had an interesting selection.

To be frank though, I was surprised such a business ever opened as the competition from the internet meant that their pricing had to be very keen so margins must have been wafer thin. Perhaps the closure tells us more about the industry that they were in than the High Road where it is difficult to generalise. The All Bar One premises is being taken over by a locally owned independent - Tuk Cho and if it is as good as the Ealing restaurant it will be a really good addition.

We do have quite a vibrant local economy here with Devonshire Road, Turnham Green Terrace and the extremities of Chiswick High Road still dominated by independents. Local people know the area well enough to make the small extra effort to use them.
