I see the OECD produced a short report in August, complete with nice plots, putting this in an international context: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/6/43/48482894.pdf Students in private schools in the UK outperform state students by more than any country in the EU. However, once these schools' performance is adjusted to allow a comparison to an equivalent state school, UK private schools deliver the greatest relative loss, and for the largest amount of money. For the UK at least, this report quite clearly answers its own question: "Private Education: Who Benefits?" |
