Totally agree with you Malcolm having read more about this over the past days. It is definitely history repeating itself by the look of things. What I don't understand is how we are told that cutbacks have to be made because there is no money but in the next breath we are told that we will be bailing another country out. I know Northern Ireland is part of UK but I am presuming that we are talking about Southern Ireland here. Why can't they borrow the money themselves? The whole situation seems absurd. What is the real reason for the UK to bail out Ireland. I know that Ireland is the gateway to invasion on England - but who do they think might bail out Ireland if they do not? I am sure that someone will. Also, do we have a mutual pact which states that they would help us if we went under? If not, then why not? Please feed my enquiring mind because sometimes politics is totally beyond me, annoyingly. |
