| To be charitable to Gordon Brown, he inherited the beginning of the end for North Sea Oil – signalling the resumption of Britain’s economic decline. Brown needed a Plan B – and chose wrong. Tony Blair was aware of this event when briefed over a decade before as Shadow Energy Secretary. It was a key factor in many of his subsequent actions, notably the US-UK Energy Dialogue. |
