Any idea why the UK is in considerably worse a situation than most of its peers though?" Because of the deregulation promoted by the last Conservative government and left in place by Labour. The FSA largely patrolled the consumer end of things without interfering with the state of deregulation. That and a broader exposure to risk in general in the city brought on by a bonus culture. And as for... " - You seem to be advocating membership of the European Economic Area without even realising." Makes it sound like we're not members already. |
