The main point is being missed here. regardless of whether we agree with the law or not, it is still the law. As with the MPs expenses scandal, Baroness Scotland's excuse is "It was unintentional, I made an honest mistake, it was an oversight, I did not knowingly break the law". This is an absolute DISGRACE. If any of us were to use this "excuse" when caught breaking the law - either in fraudulent accounting or breaking employment laws, we would simply get the book thrown at us and would be hauled up in court before we could blink. And yet these parasites are able to escape the consequences of their slimy actions by claiming the Ronald Reagan defence ("I had absolutely no idea, honestly"). Even when they are breaking a law which they themselves were involved in writing!!! It really does go to show that they are above the law and they know it. All this hot air about whether the law is a good one or not misses this point. |
